In 1973, the Arab Oil Embargo was an attempt to hold the United States hostage. Although the embargo lasted only five months, the average price of oil spiked nearly 77 percent. In response to this tyrannical act, Oklahoma oilmen founded the Energy Advocates in order to promote energy security and to correct misinformation about the energy industry.

Today, the Energy Advocates are building upon the strong foundation of energy education about the oil and gas sector and have begun to promote all forms of energy. This will continue the great tradition established by our founders while continuing to be a vital communications channel between consumers, the entire industry, and our government.

Why Be an Energy Advocate?
With your generous support, we will continue to be an authoritative resource and voice for all forms of energy, energy security, and energy education.
